PAUL CHAPMAN FOR CITY COUNCIL
Responsible Decision Making on Nanaimo Issues.
Nanaimo has offered me so many opportunities and benefits. From seashore to mountaintop, I love this place.
We face many challenges including Climate Change and community change.
My pledge:
I will uphold the Protocol Agreement between the Snuneymuxw First Nation and the City of Nanaimo. I pledge to listen to Neighbourhood voices, in a proactive rather than reactive way, to inform council decision making to keep community and nature in a growing City.
Values Statement:
I’m running to ensure that as Nanaimo grows, we don’t lose the community we hold dear. Our neighbourhoods are our small towns in the city that keep us connected to each other and to the land. We need to reflect those neighbourhood values in the decisions we make on resiliency, affordability, safety, and shelter.
Vision Statement:
I will work with Neighbourhood Associations and groups to make sure the ideas and concerns of our neighbourhoods inform the decisions council make. I picture a proactive environment where we come together to decide how to deal with the challenges our community faces rather than react to decisions made for us without us.
